Whoopi needs a whooping. What a moron! That was just her chance to run her mouth and say something controversial and try to sound smart. Instead, she show her ignorance of The Constitution and her general mental deficiency.

The better comment was Barbara Walter's "don't worrry us white folk will take care of you".

Based on his own comment Mr. McCain understood exactly what she meant so come on folks if he
understood then I implore you listen to the dialogue with at least some degree of intelligent perception regarding the point she was making.

Barbara Walter's comment was nothing more than the continuing humorous dialog they always have.

Carry on

You are 100% correct. Actually, in spite of Whoopi's provocative way of asking, it was a legitimate question. She was asking McCain about his ideas on "strict constuctionism" regarding the SCOTUS and the Constitution. She was implying that strict constructionists would be able to revert to slavery as legal. Of course, she was ignoring the fact that amendments to the Constitution are legally just as much a part of the Const. as the earlier body of words. Therefore, one cannot say a strict constructionist SCOTUS would disenfranchise women, do away with the right to avoid self-incrimination in trials, freedom of religion, etc. McCain knew exactly what she was asking, and had he been allowed to actually answer, he might have made the points I am making here. Instead, Barbara Walters got very nervous and cut off the discussion.

Exactly. She was asking about strict constructionism but did so in a very oblique and inflammatory way. That's what I find totally ignorant. That's just Whoopi. She totally ignored the Amendments. I think McCain would have answered exactly as you suggested.

She wasn't being oblique and inflammatory at all. The show is called the VIEW and the girls on this show don't pull no punches. Sometimes it's downright funny just to see the way they think.

#1 IT'S A SHOW. Interjecting controversial comments in order to stir the pot is what the show is about.

#2 Whoopi is still a comedian and as such is expected to come from a different angle at times. That's what the show is about. Sometimes she's serious sometimes she's the devils advocate, sometime she's sarcastic. These women are nuts and you gotta keep up if you expect to follow what's going on.

#3 Whoopi is about the only voice of reason on the View. Much of the time it's Whoopi that keeps the rest of them from going off the deep end.

We definitely know who's lucky enough to be retired and have the daytime free for "The View".

I don't like Whoopi Goldberg. Never have, never will. She is entitled to her views even if I don't agree with them. I just ignore her but saying that Whoopi is the voice of reason goes to show how nuts they all are.

Does anyone know where her eyebrows went?
