Out of the total money being spent, only a very small portion is actually going to the lower and middle class. If most of the bills consisted of tax rebates to the lower and middle class, then you would be correct in calling it socialism.

I don't doubt that Obama really wants to move things more towards socialism, but I think he is mostly powerless to do so. What he needs is the people to protest like what is happening in France. If people were to come out in number and demand change, then he will be able to make it happen.

In the end, our elected representatives do care about their own asses, and they will turn down the money from special interests if they think their careers are on the line. It's good that you send letters to them expressing your opinions. It's too bad that more people don't do this.

I wish they would. Maybe if you could call it in like American Idol???

For some reason I think that a couple million people forming a mob in front of the Capital or White House would have a more profound effect.

These tea parties did not get much coverage except to be the punch line of a joke on the daily show.

Let's see, in one post Eric is bragging that he is making more money now that he employs only 5 people, instead of 8. Later, he says the French ought to be praised for protesting that some people might be laid off.

Perhaps he would enjoy a little protest at his office, with his 3 fired ex-employees leading a march.

We have never laid off or fired any employees in the 15 years I have been working at and/or managing my company. People have left and simply were not replaced a few times.

In fact, that is how we released we did not need as many people. Someone quit and we were able to manage fine without them, so we just never hired a replacement. This happened a few times over a 10 year period.

I wouldn't fire someone unless they did something awful like stole or refused to do their work. If someone is not good at something, then you can find something else they are good at and change around their job structure. As long as people mean well and try to do a good job, then they deserve to have a job.
