I don't understand the either/or debate here.

Why can't we stop paying for illegals? Why can't we stop paying for pointless wars? And (most importantly) why can't we stop paying for a socialist agenda which is pushing America towards bankrupcy?

Because the democrats want them to become legalized and vote democrat.

That one I don't have an answer for. But it's a good idea

How do you get better times from my mention of a presidential order to deal with the lack of jobs during the depression and another after WWII? Better yet you then attempt to make me look like I'm prejudice by highlighting "Wetback" and mentioning Slavery. My post was relevant to this topic and was pointing out documented HISTORY which you seem to know nothing about. "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it".

Question for you. What do you think of Karl Marx?

In that case, your attempt to school me on history has a ring of simplicity well suited to this age of one-dimensional solutions framed by force (sort of your current views and those of the Tea Party).

The reality of “Operation Wetback” wasn’t so simple. Eisenhower’s sweep was effective because it was mass deportation on the Soviet model (a la Karl Marx ), not because it was admirable, let alone fair or, in thousands of cases, legal. Mexicans were especially targeted whether they were legal immigrants or not. Children of Mexican parents, who were American citizens for having been born on American soil, were deported, too.
The government’s deportation methods were beyond cruel. The Justice Department permitted the Immigration Service to crowd 500 Mexicans aboard a "hell ship" that normally carried seventy to ninety persons. Mexicans mutinied aboard the ship after 40 people jumped overboard and seven drowned in an attempt to reach shore.

Forgotten in that bullying decade and since was the Truman commission on illegal immigration that came closest to solving the issue, but at a price: Better wages for migrant laborers and strictly regulated working conditions. Federal agents wouldn’t be raiding workplaces to check on the legality of workers, but to verify employers’ documentation of fair pay and the kind of working conditions Americans would not consider beneath them. Employers’ advantage of hiring illegal immigrants would vanish. No demand, no need for supply. The recommendations never became law (hmm I wonder why). The West’s big farmers defeated them, because that, in the end, is who enables illegal immigration — the employers who profit from it and the consumers who demand it by way of low-cost food, nannies, maids, fern-cutters (you live in California so you know what I mean ).

“Illegals” are the most despised, most abused, most punished and most condemned for our nations problems. But they’re the least to blame and the worthiest of praise. They’re busboys to our American extravagance. When was the last time you had an illegal competing for your job. Maybe I'm rationalizing this too much (and using your credentials as an example) but at least in the high-tech industry that I work in, it's a non issue.

BTW, nice quote by George Santayana (a la Glenn Beck) in order to bring credibility to your one sided point of view.

exactly..most work hard for less pay doing jobs that most Americans don't...so when I hear an American on TV complaining how they are loosing jobs to immigrants I say BS...

One example from my work experience was exactly in CA...Salinas to be more exact. Had 2 drivers wait there 3 extra days to get loaded with produce because they had nobody to process and load the trucks...

I'm on the phone weekly with most of these managers over the phone and let me tell you...most workers there illegal or not...they get the job done because no American wants to do it...and we're not the only ones with this problem...

Chile, Chile, Chile,

Yes...My closing remark was indeed a "Quote" as you can tell from the "Quotation" marks.

You however, left out those important marks as you plagiarized word for word an article you found on-line and tried to pass it off as your own. I knew right away that you had plagiarized someone else just by the writing style. Though clearly written by someone with your lean in politics the real author seemed at least educated. I was especially amused by your opening line where I recognized the Chile I know and I quote "In that case, your attempt to school me on history" after that line it became obvious you incorporated someone elses work.

I'll bet you searched for hours on Google for a response that would make you look smart. You even went to the trouble of cutting parts out and moving some around to make it sound more like your own. In post #10 I said Google "operation wetback" I did not say Google a response.

So in the future give credit where credit is due and show some respect to the (true)author of the creative thought.

Pretty sad Chili,

Below is the source you plagiarized.

You should name your source if it's not you. It's the polite thing to do. You don't want to be like SoccerJunky do you?

If you're so busy at work, why are you even trying to throw your opinion around and rewording quotes from other people? I love when people throw the English 101/grammar nazi card. It's the same as hearing my kids say "whatever" aka "damn it, I don't have a good answer and I'm busted!"

It's obvious to anyone with an IQ over 75 you crafted the post to deceive. If you were in such a hurry you should have cut and pasted the diatribe in its original form or linked the website. It took more time finding the article then changing it enough to fit your point than it would've to respond in your own words.

Don't compound your mistake...Just take the lumps and admit your mistake. Continuing to lie makes an embarrassing situation worse. Own up and you MIGHT get some respect. Keep up your lie and you'll become more irrelevant than you already are.

Sorry to get mean here guys but it pisses me off when people bullshit and then turn around and insult us with more bullshit.
