who is interested in a World meet in cancun?

Gauging from some feedback, it looks like its feasible to get a real X-"World"-wide meet going in cancun if there are enough people willing to spend their vacation with fellow members. this would probably be the most compelling way to get our international family a chance to get together in a place they would enjoy... yes, that means everyone from all over the world is invited.

Here's some details to spice up the incentive for ya'll:

Price on average is $1500USD per person for two people that includes round trip airfare in the continental USA for 8 days/7 nights of ALL INCLUSIVE resort fun in sunny cancun. You get a single or double room with a jacuzzi tub (all this is standard).

I'll work on pricing for large groups/conventions to see how low I can get it. I think kids are an extra $49USD/day in your room, and $75/USD for extra adults in your room. But if i do get some serious intentions, then I will get you folks exact prices...

What does ALL INCLUSIVE mean? it means you pay nothing, zilch, nada, zippo, zero for food, drinks (yes alcohol too), room service, wireless internet, non motorized activities, tours to ancient ruins/water parks/shopping/etc, etc. you don't have to tip if you don't want to. I did because the service is spectacular, they really do know how to treat you like royalty there... you may/may not get a 25 min masage, facial, pedicure/manicure with your package too.. i dunno yet.

the intended resort is the Moon Palace found at www.palaceresorts.com for its larger gathering functions and family atmosphere.

obviously, you can't bring your X to show off, but i guess you could wear a mod list on your shirt?

if you are interested, please let me see a show of hands by voting... i'm going again regardless in Feb and June of 2007 because it is that good there. We have at least 8 months to 1 year to get this thing planned so its highly possible if you guys are up for fun in Mexico! Even if the group going is very small, we can still do this!

(by the way, nothing says you have to hang out with each other everyday... just at least for one dinner one night... the rest of the time is yours to spend anyway you want)

Adam,

The CEO and I will most certainly consider it! Keep us posted. Sounds like it'd be fun, though.

My wife and I were planning to check out Mexico for the first time. This would be the ultimate motivator to make this happen for me. It would be great meeting you guys, not to mention finally visiting Mexico. Count me in

I voted for Feb 07. Come on people, we would have a blast. I know it's far off but what better way to combat the mid winter blahs than a trip to sunny Mexico. The weather is beautiful that time of year. I'm flexible on the dates but summer vacations are difficult for me.

I'm a maybe, sitting here looking at the cal. for Feb. ...

I/we would only come for the Regs&Faves angle as
SW FLA is not a bad spot to be in February.

Have been to C several times, so the "sights" are
not the enticement; it would be the Gang, draw-wise if
it comes to fruition.

Adam, you think flights/rooms are readily available during Feb?
That's "Pres's Week"/half-the-world-off-school month, in the US.

I'm still waiting to see how the results show up before I call to get estimates on how many rooms we need, how many are flying in from america, how many are flying in from europe, how many are hitchhiking or swimming, etc...

but if we get a jump on the crowd and book early, then i'm pretty confident we can get the rooms we need...

Might also want to consider Zihuatanejo if you're not married to Cancun. I've been to both (PV and M also) and we enjoyed Z the most. However, the CEO and I would be interested. Keep us posted!

Sounds good! The future mrs. and I will be there in 3 weeks to plan our jump over the broom. I'd definitely go in Feb. for an international meet!
