For future gathering research purposes.....

Ok, so Meiac and I were having a "lively" discussion on where a future X5World meet should be held, and what would be expected in terms of entertainment venues, food, etc...

The poll is just to gauge interest for possible future planning and development. And perhaps to prove one of us very wrong or very right. Also feel free to add realistic activities or preferences that might convince you to attend and have a good time.

Ah, M&M...
what time of year?

ME is a haul, even for the metro NY gang...for anyone south of DC, VA, the Carolinas,
Maine is an airplane ride or, 2 long days just to get there.

Neither is out of the question, place-wise, but doubt few Left Coasters
will make either one, imo.

I think summer for either... we were batting around ideas, and mine is more of a "road trip" than a pure meet, there would be some driving involved... (Don't worry, though... plenty of "rest" stops, and theres a vodka distillery 5 minutes up the road from where I live ) I've also gone from school home in a day. It can be done Its not fun though.

I could go either way. Where exactly in Maine are we talking? There's a big difference between Portland and Bar Harbor.

Northern Mass, L... (Portland or the surrounding area)
There are loads of great places to stay, cascade, eat, etc... right around here.

It's almost 1100 miles from our Mtn Joint to Portland, ME; a two
day trip for anyone except truck driving teams.

400 miles to Richmond, for us...

I would try to do either, but obviously the Maineiac Trip would have to
coincide with seeing the kids in NJ, fam in NY, etc. And, it's a helluva
car ride for these old bones.

Power to the Planner People, however.

well see what happens... the poll was the result of a long-ish conversation, and who knows... maybe we have something in the works... I also realize than anyone coming to ME is a long shot, heck, my extended family from Boston thinks its like another planet (well, it is) but I had some ideas that could turn into a good time, and some sources for a pretty good adventure if anyone cared...

That said, Richmond sounds good for me too, especially if the dates coincide with me going back and forth between school and home

Of course, as mentioned earlier, the purpose is just to gauge interest for possible future developments. I don't really know what I could come up as entertainment other than a large parking lot for photos and a lively dinner/mall venue (Short Pump Town Centre, if anyone knows it). It's a super long-shot that won't be coming soon, but IF it should happen, a place needs to be chosen.

Of course, we could do a DC meet all over again!
