New BMW spy shot

The roofline looks quite nice and is a better execution of the coupe lines, which would make sense since it is in fact a coupe. :confused: The CLS is a sedan with a coupe roofline. I am curious what the rear window and trunk lid look like as compared to the CLS's sheered derrier.

The headlights on this spyshot look like Acura headlights. :tsk:

It looks like a facelifted 645i but it's hard to tell the size of the vehicle. This is a brand new model? Where does it fit into the lineup? :dunno:

Roofline looks like it was "borrowed" from the G35...

This spy shot is hint at shape of next gen 5er from BMW. A 4-door sedan with coupe roof, aggressive front and smaller rear.

I think that looks great!

I forget which automotive website I was in last night, but they also had the same Autobild snapshots and a brief description. They said this new model is equipped with concealed (no door handles) suicide doors (door line barely visible in the photo) and is likely to be the newest model of the currently dormant 8 series.

It will be interesting to see of the BMW designers come up with a solution to the ingress/regress issues with suicide doors - they won't open unless the front doors are opened first.

That is true. The pic is of a 4-door coupe but the rear door handles are not visible.

Interesting.... If that is intended to be a new 8er it's kind of an odd replacement. I kind of think of the 6er as the new 8er since it's a bigger GT car and the 8er came out when there wasn't a 6er coupe. If you compare the dimensions between the new 6er and the 8er they're pretty close. I guess what I'm saying is that adding a model like that could create confusion.
