Yep we ran into that as well. Man i'm tellin you we rode and drove almost every combination until she was satisfied. Honestly i really enjoy her ride but I would have rather had the 550. The X5 just spoiled me and that 6 isn't quite enough for me. I'm sill drooling over that M5. Oh well such is life. It's a blessing for us to have 2 new BMW's sitting in the garage.

so the question then is why not just replace it with a regular tire and not deal with it? BMW makes a donut that will fit in the trunk a la E46 M3.

The RFTs are probably the best reason to go out and buy a set Michelin PS2s or Goodyear F1s and sell the runflats while they're still new. So long as you have BMW Assist and Roadside Assistance, you're covered in the urban areas. Buy a donut, leave it in the garage, and throw in the trunk when you need to take your E90 on a long trip or on back roads.

Wonder if other tires will fit wheels designed for runflats? Any difference?
