:rofl: Until the car dies....I got 135K on the X5, 42K on the M3....Got up to 290K on my old E30 325i.....

bah! The other beautiful color is mystic blue metallic; you really don't see it on the road too much..and I've never seen it on anything other than an M3.

I think Josh can verify this, but in the M5, when you select "forward/up-down arrow" or "N" or "R", I know it lights up brighter. When I test drove the M5, I noticed that whether the headlights are on or not, the brightness of the selected function "forward/up-down arrows"/"N"/"R" remains the same. Meaning that it doesn't dim just because the headlights go on....right?

I was going to wire in that function, but many people on the M3forums complained that it was too bright at night.

Hmmm....well, next time you drive the M5, take a look @ your SMG knob and when you select "N" or "forward gears", it will light up brighter than the rest of the shift pattern on the knob. See, if there is a difference whether you turn on or off the headlights. TIA
