all 4.8 engines getting boost in HP for 2008
 

550, 650, 750 are all getting power boosts for 2008 in there 4.8 engines. Power is going from 360hp now to 380hp. It is needed considering the 550 mercs are pushing out 382hp, Glad to see bimmer stepped it up a notch. No word yet if the change will cross over to the 4.8 X5 which is currently at 350hp. I was told they will not.

what kind of torque?

I heard torque will be similar to the current 360lbs since the displacement stays the same. It will probably go up a bit and have a different torque curve. But most of the change will be up top i think. also i think part of the boost in power is due to the fact that they will be getting direct injection the same year
