Who has an M6?
 

does anyone on here have an M6? has anyone
driven an M6? the reason i ask is because of this
video clip from Top Gear. they make it look as
if the M6 is a nightmare to go back and forth
between the 400hp and 501hp? is it really all
that complicated or is it a one time setup and
then u just push the button?:dunno:

Okay, the M5 is setup the same way as the M6. I love Top Gear, don't get me wrong, but really, all you have to do is hit the POWER button by the gearshift console and you have 500HP.:rolleyes:

Now, you can program the "M"-mode button any way you like.:)

I mean, it is if these guys never used a computer (Windows or Mac)? I mean we all have our preferences for our cellphones, computer, etc.

I rather have control the car's computer function rather than take it to the dealership for them to turn on my DRLs or whether car will lock the doors after 13mph, etc.

If they can't figure out computers, then it is time for them to warp back into the past and use their fingers & toes instead of a calculator to count numbers.:rofl:

see, that's what i thought, but a friend of mine was bashing the
M5 and M6 saying how difficult it would be to use. the PC argument
was my exact argument.

is there an initial setup that a driver has to perform or are there
default values that are preprogrammed?

There are default settings, but heck, if it is that hard to hit the power button, then don't buy the M5/M6. You can program the M button to your favorite settings (e.g. shocks on "sports setting", 500 HP mode, SMG speed shift setting, DSC on or off, etc.)

Now, Launch control is something that takes more time to setup, but heck, just hit the gas pedal and go.

I never use launch control on my M3....just step on the gas and go!

Ive driven an M5 which is pretty much identical to the M6 and it is not hard to use at all. And the switch from 400hp to 500hp is at a touch of a button. How much easier can it get?

ok, so regardless of which setting u use, pushing the
button give u the 500hp. it's the programmable setting
that allows u to adjust the suspension and other settings.

Yes, it is that simple.

I dunno about the M6 review, but the M5 was reviewed by Jeremy Clarkson, who hates anything BMW (apart from the M3 CSL). Wait, I take that back, he hates anything German.

He's got a little too much English (car) pride for me.

Other say, that its just because his arch nemesis with Tiff Needele (ex racecar driver who loves everything BMW) from Fifth gear... (There was once top gear, then the people left made fifth gear and then jeremy left fifth gear and remade top gear?!).

Something like that. Anyway, what i'm trying to say is that Mr. Clarkson has somewhat of a bias towards BMW's. Not trying to knock the show, I very much like the humor and its style as well as Hammond and the other guy (who are much more fair to BMW's too).

In the comparo between the Vantage, M6 and Carrera, he chose the M6.
