Just got my M3 back from an Inspection II & got the valves adjusted, oil change, new spark plugs, tranny fluid & rear diff fluid changed (yes in the M3, you get those done @ Insp 2), and new front brake pads/rotors & it cost me $0!!:) The SMG tranny shifts much smoother with the tranny fluid change & the engine has more pull & smoother. It feels like a brand new M3!:) |
I doubt simple fluid change makes a real difference. It's mainly psychological.

Then, most likely the valve adjustment and new spark plugs...Read the whole post!!:nanana:

Nice. What year is your M3?

Fluid changes do make a difference, not psychological... especially tranny and diff. Plugs make a world of difference, and adjusting valves will make a difference. For a few days, it will feel brand new again.
And I can't wait to hit 150 - 170k (currently at 110) when I get to do a whole head job... woo hoo. That will certainly make a difference :D So what fluids did you go with, or did you just get everything done at the dealer? |

GUINNESS: I agree with the fluid change. It was the latest and greatest version of the tranny fluid and rear diff. Fortunately, my rear diff has been quiet. BMW did release a new tranny fluid and rear diff fluid about 1-2 years ago. I believe I got the latest version, but I will check. The shifting is definitely much smoother (even in SMG form). I used my maintainance warranty to cover the Inspection II! Good the thing the bill was $0.00!;) Quote:

Glad to hear that it really makes a difference. Some people seem to suggest otherwise.
