It's one of the guys from E90post. Apparently some old man made a left turn in front of him, with not enough room to spare.. The e90 hit the car, then the pole.

I thought I read that he swerved to avoid the oncoming car... and therefore hit the pole.

I didn't contest that.

What i'm saying is that the E90 did not hit the car (with the old guy) and then the pole. Simply the pole, by avoiding the old man...

Sorry. I thought I had read that there the other day.

So basically long story short: Old man makes left turn in front of oncoming traffic over double yellow line!!
YES I will get back all my mods if the car is totalled!!! my body shop already knows me very well and is very supportive of the situation!!
ALSO for all of you who have done the steering wheel swap rest assured that airbag still works!!! It saved my life!!

UPDATE:
evaluator has called said the roof is twisted a bit and the engine is pushed into the firewall on the right side he said it took a huge hit and the pressure bent the frame as well!! Its not his call to totall it out so the info has been submitted and i should hear within a ocuple days!!

I just thought I would mention that these cars are uber safe! I was in one in an accident that did $30,000 worth of damage and walked away with only a f'd up neck. My brother in-law got a cut on his finger. I almost cut off more than that for the damage he did to the car. I told him "The Germans called, they want their car back."

If I hadn't just recovered from someone rear-ending my month old X5 "F%&^#$%^" I probably would have been just fine.

The idiot body shop kept finding more stuff wrong so my brother in-law got hosed. He got back a bondo'd rebent wreck. Needless to say I am now not afraid of airbags and a true believer in the safety of these cars.
