That will NOT buff right out. CSL at the Ring
Petty into the wall!
Ouch!!! :wow: at the CSL wheels!
Dude, I have never, ever seen a wheel do that. The force it must have taken is amazing. Good thing he was in a BMW or he and his girlfriend might not have lived.
Looks like someone didn't spend enough time with the PS3 before heading out to the real thing. There are so many blind corners at that track, it really pays to have an idea of it before-hand..
that and driving within your limits. |
Well at least everyone looks ok...
wrecked CSL!!! :bawling: :damn:
Ouch and everyone knows Insurance does not cover racing accidents!
That's exactly why I'd never race my daily driver! I assume the owner of that car is rich and it doesn't matter to him - NOT!
Really, so if I track my car and wreck it I am screwed? Ouch.

Unless, it's a timed event, insurance normally covers (at least in the US). So even if you go out to HPDE, you should be straight. I don't think he was "racing".

Ouch!! Someone shoulda been more careful when testing the limits.

Insurance coverage - check with your agent first.
As vinuneuro pointed out... If you take YOUR car to a "driving education", DE, HPDE, etc, and wreck, insurance MUST cover. It is an UNTIMED event and you are not "racing". You are learning to drive your car at the limit and increase your experience behind the wheel. Chances are, they'll drop you after. If you RACE your car... timed event, you need special coverage insurance and you will pay through the nose. If you wreck at The Ring, I do not believe insurance will cover as you sign an insurance waiver before entering (I THINK). You must pay the ~1200 euros to have your car towed off the track by a Ring wrecker. You must then call for another tow company to pick it up once off the track. You are fined for damage to any part of the track and charged for debris clean up as well as a rate/time that the track must remain closed to clean up your mess. I will be driving the Ring one day... and will brush up with GT4 before going ;) |
Recounting from experiences of people I know, Hertz is the only one, or one of the few that makes you sign a waivor prior to attacking the Ring.
Will someone explain what and where the ring is, please?

Click on "The Nurburgring Experience" button at the bottom for more info about "The Ring". |

Now you know... and knowing is half the battle  Actually, I was reading something that in the "true" enthusiast community, if people cannot spell Nurburgring with the two dots over the first 'u' (obviously I don't know how since they're not there) then they will simply refer to it as "The Ring". Think I read that on Wikipedia or my sister told me about that when she was in Germany last year talking to some locals. |

OUCH!!! That hurts just looking at it. At least he did a thorough job and bounced both sides of the car off the walls. I suppose it's lucky that it stayed shiny side up at least.
Thx. Had a feeling that was it.
