3__ v. M3: Chassis

Do M3s have additional structural reinforcements that regular 3s don't? I'm not talking about the suspension..

They usually do. I'd expect the same for this one the E92.

I had an E36 M3. As far as I can remember, the rear subframe was much beefier and reinforced over a stock 3-series. I had an x-brace installed as an option. That's was pretty much it. Obviously you know about the upgraded suspension components on the M3.

Yes it is possible to convert a generic 3 series into an M3 given the means and materials. IMO, sorting out the wiring and installing the M3 flares would take the longest and require the assistance of a pro.

Short answer is there is little difference. Even the E36 M3 subframe can be retrofitted.

Thanks for your response Mike. With the releases of the 335 and M3, it makes me wonder what the real difference is going to be between the two other than price. As far as what's under the hood..they're both equal imo. Actually the 335 might be slightly better in that area because of it's tq curve. Swap in the rear subframe and suspension components are we're talkin. I know all that might be cost prohibitive..just thinking out loud.
