i'll wait for the sedan.

Thunder22 04-03-2007 01:15 PM

the hood bulge is interesting...

kirkX5m 04-03-2007 03:08 PM

a little too BLAH? i was so pumped by the new m3 pics and engine details, this is a bit of a let down!~!!!!!

vinuneuro 04-03-2007 04:05 PM

I suppose the countdown now starts till owners start swapping 335i hoods and a/m hoods start popping up..

Looks wise, even though the 335i might be better than the predecessor, E46 M3 > E90 M3 wins hands down. This thing has a really sedated look.

dr.jay 04-03-2007 04:51 PM

It's OK, I wish I can say HOLY SHIT I'm putting my order in today but it's not doing it for me

bjo 04-03-2007 05:27 PM

looks only so-so to me.

I'd rather get an Mroadster or Mcoupe.

motordavid 04-03-2007 05:47 PM

Looks like a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP that the Teutons got
ahold of for a weekend "do".

I'm sure it will be a hell raiser and handler, but it's beauty
will be below the skin, imo. And, pricey...

The Cleaner 04-03-2007 06:41 PM

Right now I think the 335i E92 is the sweet spot in the line up.

Trouties 04-03-2007 06:46 PM

The front now looks like the Z4 M. I think the Z4M Coupe is better looking!

LeMansX5 04-03-2007 06:50 PM

Not believing if these are "official"(so to speak). BMW official pics are released in double-digit #s and a press release is also associated(see my official pics and press release threads). These are just 4 pics floating on net. None of major auto sites have any M3 official pics. Either way, here are some bigger pics for you.;)

This/Autoshow are pretty much it right? This thing looks like the one unit in previous pics, slightly smaller wheels, diff color.

Seems official to me :)

AzNMpower32 04-03-2007 08:43 PM

I don't like the seats at all. The hood bulge is a bit out of place and not well done.

Sorry, the E46 M3 remains my choice of BMW.

The ones I posted are exact same pics as what Wagner posted, only bigger.

I wouldn't go that far, if I had my pick of a BMW it would be a Z8 :)

China Man 04-03-2007 08:51 PM

looks kind of blah to me.. doesn't look much different than a 335i coupe? That E46 M3 looks meaner ...

Wagner 04-03-2007 08:52 PM

This is funny. When I had my E46 M3 all the M3 people complained that it looked too much like a 330Ci with the sport package and needed more flare to stand apart. Now the new M3 gets the same criticism.

If you read the posts on M3post about E46 M3 when it was released back then, you will find same comments. It never changes. ;)

Very true... I can't wait to see the comments when the new 7er comes out...

Those should be interesting... ;)

Its amazing all of a sudden how dated the E46 looks like when its pitted directly against the E92...

JS_4.8 04-03-2007 11:02 PM

Well I owned an E46 M3 before I bought the 4.8, and I will honestly say I like the E92........only thing I would have liked to see are more pronounced/flared fenders similar to those on the outgoing model. Other than that, this looks like a pretty natural evolution of the M3.......and this thing will be a beast on the road with that V8!

I am hittin up the NY Auto Show next week........anyone know if there is any chance the concept will be there?

Wagner 04-04-2007 04:19 AM

Has BMW decided that 4.5-4.8 is where the M's 0-60 pretty much stays? I ask because I would think a V8 with 90 more horsepower and more torque would do better then the exact same 4.8 to 60mph as the E46M3.

asawadude 04-04-2007 10:32 AM

Is it me or is the M3 front spoiler a little grotesque? The center intake looks out of harmony with the lines of the hood and the front grill.

One thing nice about M3's and most all Bimmers - if you don't like how it looks, you can mod the hell out of it. The aftermarket will be huge for the E90 M3 as it is it's predecessors.

Wagner 04-04-2007 10:50 AM

It is also HUGELY expensive to mod a E46 M3, I remember by a "muffler" for mine cost like $1,400.00.....a muffler, not pipes..just a muffler.

If you don't already know, 0-60 times arent the best determinant of acceleration potential. There's gearing, traction, powerband characteristics, and power all factored into getting the time.

I bet the new M3 will be faster thru the quarter mile and also for 0-130mph!

bjo 04-04-2007 01:12 PM

I'm waiting for them to stuff the new v8 into the MZ4 coupe or roadster. :woot:

SilverBullet 04-04-2007 01:56 PM

I really like it. Great looking M.

Isn't it the top end where the new M cars pull away? Say 100 mph +?

I think I remember reading that the E60 M5 pulls like crazy at high speeds, and the E39 doesn't have a chance...

Probably due to the fact that the S54 and the new V8 produces top numbers of hp at 7900 and 8300 respectively.

 Very funny. I also got these pics yesterday as you did but I do not post till it comes from press.bmwgroup.com
This is a confirmed leak. Somebody made some money under the desk. ;) BMW did not intend to release these pics at this time. This was supposed to be done in June/July, when the associated press release is also ready. More power to you. ;)

LeMansX5 04-04-2007 07:13 PM
