///M3 Wagon?

I was in Palm Desert over Easter and saw this 3 wagon with the full M treatment and European plate. I don't think BMW offers this kit yet... What do you think? Real or not? Either way it looked good. Pics were taken with my phone so.. not the best quality.

trueX5er 04-10-2007 07:06 PM

wow good catch!

vinuneuro 04-10-2007 07:08 PM

Euro plates in CA...that's interesting.

Wagner 04-10-2007 07:15 PM

Most likely a 530 sport wagon with exhaust and wheels....

I'm pretty sure it was a 3. look at the lights.

Mii 04-10-2007 07:32 PM

Looks like a 335i or 335xi wagon. There is no side vent and it is missing the M3 style mirrors.

Then it is a 3 series wagon....there isn't going to be any M3 wagon....want a wagon S4 Avant.

Its a 3 wagon for sure.

Probably an M doing hot weather testing...

Its wearing a regular 'M' bodykit that is available for any 3 series (wagon, sedan, coupe or convertible). As its way to early in its test cycle to be wearing production bumpers...

But we know its an M because:
- M wheels
- 4 exhausts
- German plates

BMW has stated multiple occasions that its interested in going after the wagon market. The revival of the M5 touring proves this...

With that being said, there the M3 wagon will never make it stateside...

hmmm....looks okay, but i would rather have an audi avant S4, RS4 (if they have those ) or A6

It could be an E91 M3 doing testing but it's not hot weather testing. It's only in the 80's. If they want hot they'll have to return to Palm Desert in July when it's regularly 110. It also doesn't look like a typical BMW test mule. It would likely have New Jersey or California plates, not Euro plates. The roundel also looks like it had the blue part blacked out which is definitely not something BMW would do. EDIT: Aftermarket wheels are also a giveaway as BMW would use OEM wheels.

My guess is that it is a regular E91 with Blackline tail lights, tints, and a quad exhaust which is available for E90's. This is a quad exhaust on an E90 325i.

I have heard the same thing. It will be a very cool touring and a desirable one at that. :mmm:

Meiac09 04-15-2007 04:28 PM

an E91 M3x would put Audi out of business.
hell, a 335xiT would too...
case closed

kirkX5m 04-16-2007 09:03 PM

definitely COOL
that german plate is temporary as denoted by the red strip to the right, it has an expiration date on it....thats how my ED plate looks like!

LeMansX5 04-22-2007 12:52 AM

That is ///M3 touring. Confirmed. Good catch canamX5.

trueX5er 04-22-2007 01:08 AM

So they are going to make an M3 Wagon? US?

canamx5 04-22-2007 01:21 AM

Sweet! It's going to be really tempting when the lease is up on the E70.
Assuming it makes it to this side of the pond.

trueX5er 04-22-2007 01:27 AM

hmmm....I wonder who would buy it...If you want a fast wagon get a Magnum SRT-8 or MB E65.....But it still would be cool...:D

Did you confirm that the E91 M3 is coming or that the one in canam's photo is an E91 M3 mule? :dunno: I don't think it was but I do think that the real deal is coming.

What canam saw is the real deal mule. It is testing in the area he saw.

Interesting. I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.

Funny, I was just reading a thread on e90post about the E91 335i in Europe and all the N. Americans wish it would be sold here. I would too but I don't think BMWAG thinks there would be a market for it. Too bad.

noncom23 04-23-2007 02:01 PM

What a great find Can. A friend of mine has an older wagon with Nitrous of all things. Seems like there is a real following for the wagons. This look, to me is much better.
