Looks awkward with all those lines/cracks. My .02..

I wanted one until I saw there was no trunk space with the roof down (and I mean NO SPACE) so I ordered an M Roadster instead. Surprisingly, I can fit my golf bag and a suitcase in the roadster and not in the new 3 vert. IMHO, the new 3 vert is a bad design on BMW'S part, it just doesn't make any sense. They should have kept the soft top as an option.

:iagree:

Anyone know why BMW decided on a hardtop convertible instead of a soft top?

blondboinsd 04-28-2007 01:34 PM

I see them all over in So Cal, the roof crease looks wierd to me

kirkX5m 04-28-2007 05:30 PM

Demand from consumers showed that they wanted hardtop. BMW made a light weight hardtop as compared to competition so as not to compromise performance.

I don't think the creases look that bad. You can't have no creases+hardtop+BMW performance and handling+room in trunk. Compromises: rather have creases for lightweight hardtop and not compromise handling.

Have you driven one with hardtop?

Yes I have, drove one at the Ultimate Drive. Inside looked okay, outside the difference in appearance was obvious.

+2

Its the fad right now i suppose.
I can't fathom a car with a solid roof, but i prefer a big moonroof...

dr.jay 04-28-2007 09:53 PM

I like it, my parents have on on order,328 not 335

AzNMpower32 04-28-2007 10:09 PM

Saw one, top down the other day on the roads. Alpine white isn't really good on it IMO.

The couple of HD/verts that I've seen at the dealer looks fine to me, but all the seams are quite noticeable. If I were to buy one, I'd definitely get a dark color to hide all the lines.

The local dealer has a Montego Blue 335i vert in the showroom. It had the worst paint job I've seen in recent years on a new Bimmer. The entire car, both top and sides, is covered with major orange peel, so bad you can feel it with your finger tips. The car needed to go back to BMW VDC to get color sanded.

that top doesn't look right to me. it seems like it's trying to resemble the coupe but of course it can't match the flowing lines of the coupe. then making it look like the coupe just dissapoints me more...

...but looks great topless :D

toohotdoc 05-03-2007 03:02 PM

its rated the best hardtop in its class, thats probably why bmw made them in such.

Pentium 05-10-2007 09:08 PM
