Thinking of buying a 2004 545i

Well at this time, I'm considering a 2004 545i with around 35k miles. Does anyone have any experience with these cars? Is the 2004 the model year to avoid? Any bad things about these cars that anyone can share?

Thanks

Have a 2004 545 I just sold. Great car!!! Awesome. Very, very quick for a sedan not carrying a M badge. Active steering on the Sport Pkg is awesome. I didn't have a single issue with mine.

My wife drives a 2004 530i...no issues with it

My father had an '04 545 and he loved it, I drve it once and loved it as well. He had no issues that I am aware of...he traded it for an '04 745 because he felt it was a little too small for him.

2004 will have the first year bugs, and also the uber-ugly black rear bumper inserts. BMW NA thinks it can nickel-and-dime us by selling the reflectors as aftermarket accessories......HA! Anyway, '04s may have more issues, but as you can see from this board, its not terrible.

Thanks for the input...but I'm wondering if the 2004s have any confirmed bugs compared to the 05s and 06s. So far, reading through some pages of e60.net, I didn't find issues with them other than minor things like wind noise or panels coming apart.

530i is a better choice because:
-less expensive
-faster than 525i (the slowest)
-i6
-save a little on gas
thats why bought mine few months ago. i chose 530i over 545i because of those reasons. I didn't even check out the 525i. sweet vehicle. check for open recall on any vehicle you intend to purchase. make sure you get sport package. make sure you go to e60.net forum for further information. (i am sorry for mentioning other forum, but since they exclusively for e60 i thought it will be ok, let me know if i have to edit it)
