:dunno: GL??? You mean that Mercedes-Benz GL? BMW doesn't need a competitor to that. That's in the market with the Escalade and the Navigator.

I have no idea what M6X would think the X7 would be... The X6 is smaller than the X5.

:iagree: I would buy one tomorrow! The CEO needs (wants) something with a proper third row. The lease on her MB R500 is up soon and there still is nothing from BMW to compete. I was hoping that the V/F series would fill that gap, but it looks like it will be a 5 seater. We are placing an order on a MB GL550. BTW, it's faster from 0-60 than my E70 4.8i! :saad:

With a base price of over $20,000 more than a E70 4.8i, I would expect the GL550 to be better in some aspects. It's still not a BMW though...

Oh, it's how much faster than a E70 4.8i to 60mph? 0.2 seconds???

The thing comes loaded and only 2K more than a loaded X5.
I agree that in the end it's no BMW, but what other choices do I have?

There's nothing wrong with a GL550 --- have to confess that I seriously considered it myself (but that was mostly to replace my wife's GL320).
