335i sedan questions
 

I'm about to buy a 335i sedan pretty soon in a mouth or so. I went to my dealer decided to test drive one and man i love this car, only draw back is for some reason i want a stickshift and dealer is telling there is no demand for it. They also say, automatic version is faster than the standard version. is there any truth to this? yes it's a little weird a stickshift sedan but hey it's what i want.

also i'm thinking about just not getting the 335i and getting the 135i instead, what would be the better decision when it comes down to style and overall look? same motor so i'm not worried about that but since the 135i is lighter i image it to be a little faster.

Car and Driver said that the automatic is 0.1s faster to 60mph than the manual. However, if you want a manual, get one. In fact, order one if need be. The dealer is always going to persuade you to buy one off their lot. Plus, in a sports coupe like the 335i, there always is a demand for it.

As for the 135i versus 335i, think of it this way. It's about 90% of the space for about 90% of the price. The 135i is NOT a pure, lightweight sports car like oh say, a 2002 or a Lotus elise.

I have a steptronic 335i. Love it as a commuter. Great power with all the mods and I prefer it much more than my the E60 M5 that it replaced. Go for the 335i, more space, not much difference in price, and since it's been out for over a year, it's safe reliable bet vs a 1st year car.

I test drove a 335 manual trans (coupe), and really liked it. I ended up buying a 535, also a manual transmission. If you want a manual, don't compromise, just look around for one to test drive at other dealers and then special order it to get exactly what you want. It doesn't have to be a sedan to test; test a coupe with a stick and a sedan with an automatic if necessary.

I would skip the 135. It is less car for a similar price. Weight is comparable. If you want a 120d, great, but for the 35 go with a 3 (or a 5, which has essentially the same performance).

agreed.. not to mention that a lot of dealers will dealer trade for the car to earn your business especially at the end of the year.

cool thanks for the comments i'm pretty sure i'll be getting the 335i but don't know whether in stick or auto. i'll be sure to post some pics in a month or so, anyone have a 335i that is alpine white with black interior?
