The engine management system, in conjunction with the piezo injectors, allows up to 3 injection events. It is load and rpm dependent. Because there are two events in the video, the engine being filmed is either at low torque level and rpm, or medium rpm. At high torque/low rpm conditions there are three events. This helps to allow the use of a 10.2:1 compression ratio, which is fairly high for a turbocharged engine running pump gas.
