BMW E34 (525i - 1987 to 1996)
 

I have a 1995 version of the 525i.
I notice that the "radiator grill" on my car is wider than most (but not all) other 525s of that era (1987-1996).

a) I was told that there was no 1996 version of the 525i. Yet wikipedia shows this as being made thru' 1996. Can someone clear up this info?

b) Is the radiator grill modification a way to distinguish a subset of 525s of that ilk (E34s) ?

I remember reading that some later E34's have wider kidney grills than their older brothers. I'lll try to find that magazine articl again and post up.

Web search shows that E34 V8 models had the wide grill in 94 and then for 95 all engine models got the wide grill. I stand to be corrected by E34 experts. Check out the various E34 forums.
