2011 F12, F13 6-series spy shots, CGIs thread
wowwww..what is that?
very strange...and I didn't like it :D what do u think? |
Front looks wimpy..rear looks like it could be good.
Looks like they took a Z4 front, and stretched it out.
no
Rear will be more like this. As I said before in earlier thread, there will be hardtop vert. Expect to see some CS styling influence in next 6-series as well.

:iagree:
i'll miss the E-codes |
F13 6-series spy shots

Interesting, but very similar to the current design? Looks like it has the same hood mistake as the 7. Gaps look good from above, not so good from the front.
Bear in mind that it is still in before FEP phase with lot of cladding. Don't let the camo deceive.

Good when viewed from above http://www.auto-news.de/webcore/data...5182090607.jpg Gaps 'look' bigger at outer edge above kidneys even though the gap is perfect. It shouldn't transition from one angle to another, just like the current 6 hood does. The E7x's are done right. Obviously that 'other' design team doesn't listen to me! |
I am not a fan at all of that hood line between the kidney grills and the roundel on the new 7-series and current 6 series. It looks very cheap to me.
They should all look like the 3 and 5 series, IMO, where the hood line meets at the top of the kidney grills. |
Agreed

Nice paint job

F12 - 6-series coupe
F13 - 6-series vert The next 6-series will be offered in hardtop version as well. |
Hard to see the lines and compare to the existing model - What do you make of it?
That's a hardtop with a softtop stitched on to fool us...
Look at the rear window. 1. They're trying to fool us with a black plastic covering giving the illusion of a smaller window (which would = softtop). 2. Look at the seams the rear window makes with the soft-top. Much too smooth to be a soft-top. |

That looks great!
Why is the top still fabric... while z4 now comes with hardtop???
Is that because some people still prefer the fabric top? I don't know.... :dunno: I think hardtop would look much better than that.. |

you are right...just noticed that!

BMW's North American chief on the next 6-series
The "best-looking BMW in years" says U.S. chief On the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW North American chief Jim O’Donnell tells Automobile Magazine that the next 6-series coupe and convertible will be radically different from the current cars’ styling. “In my opinion,” says O’Donnell, “the next 6-series is the best-looking car that BMW has done in years. It’s really stunning.” O’Donnell further states that the current 6-series is very “polarizing” due to it “really having a Bangle butt.” The new 6-series, which we’ll likely see in 1.5 years at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March 2011 is, on the other hand, “super sleek.” Designed under the direction of Chris Bangle’s successor, Adrian van Hooydonk, the next-generation 6-series will retain the general size of the current car but clearly will be considerably more svelte looking. In other future-product news, O’Donnell confirmed that the new 5-series will be shown at the 2010 Geneva Show next March. |

love the one with the 635d coupe. i guess I should go buy a lottery ticket now, or start dating a major politician's daughter...
I never really understood the point of the 6er. I like the 6er cabriolet and I would get one (non-sport) if I had the money as a comfortable cruiser, but "big coupé" just doesn't work for me.
Damn that camo...I cannot wait to get a good look at where they are going with this baby. I love the six. Comfortable confident cruiser with good taste.:bmw: Who cares if it is heavy as shit lol Then again if I wasn't 6'4 225 I might be content with a 3 series. Keep the pics coming!
That is the best fitting retractable hardtop I've ever seen.

I wish they would make the 6 series a pillar-less design. I feel as though the B? pillar destroys the otherwise excellent lines. It is what makes the merc coupes more aesthetically pleasing.
That's the convertible, so maybe the coupe will be B-pillar less like the 8 series was. Or is it a fake out? Time will tell.

Doesn't really look that much different to me. That should make all the current 6-series owners happy.

Looks like a production ready soft-top. I wonder why the 6 series gets this and the 3 series has the retracting hard-top?

I don't know if it is the photo itself or the wheels on that car, but the proportions look all off to me. It appears way too long...that's what she said. Seriously though, way too long.
Obviously winter tires/wheels. With the correct summer wheels it will be spectacular. Except for the lower section at the back of the door and rocker panel. Too much detail in that area.
