WTF were they thinking? :puke:

There should be laws to prevent M abuse like that!

Michelle 02-09-2009 10:52 PM

WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?

JCL 02-09-2009 10:54 PM

Beyond speechless.

I particularly like the tow hook screwed into the rear bumper, painted red to match the blue lights, and ready for use whenever the driver stuffs it into the weeds.

GOFAST GUY 02-09-2009 11:34 PM

You guys really need to appreciate art for it's diversity as oppose to regularity. Personally, I like it. Just imagine the money that guy dropped into it??
I garanty, if that rear spoiler wasn't up to the task, it wouldn't still be on the car. There's no telling from the outside what he's all done under the hood. Also, imagine how much wieght he's shaved off doing what he's done? In no way would I do that to that car but since he's modded it up performance wise, it would definitely be an improvement from the stock model. I actually find it more interesting then the guys that cram 15TVs in their car along with trunk mounted computers and hundreds of pounds of subs, amps, bling'n lights and all that other shit.

zerochief 02-09-2009 11:38 PM

I don't like it... however it appears to be a race car modified for the track. Radical or Ruined?

AzNMpower32 02-10-2009 12:01 AM

That is absolute rubbish. And disappointingly, it's located in Japan.

I like how the standard Olive wood trim makes it extra sporty.

So is it art because of how much someone spent on it? The diversity isn't what bothers me, diversity is fine. I appreciate many types of art, but I have trouble seeing this as art. It is probably the discordant lines combined with the lack of balance. An example would be the sheet metal riveted to the bumper. The blue headlights are not functional. And the wing is just silly.

I agree with you about putting TVs in cars though.

bmwboy 02-10-2009 01:04 AM

Worst m5 i have ever seen.:wtf:

rayxi 02-10-2009 04:52 AM

Just goes to show that money can't buy good taste.

StumpyPete 02-10-2009 07:18 AM

I don't think it is about taste at all - given one of the photos is on the track, it is clear that it is modded for track use. The Red tow eye is the giveaway for that - it is mandatory in certain countries for track use. That would also explain the rediculous rear wing.

However if it is purely for road then the guy is a Dork.

I agree with this comment. This guy has a role cage in the rear of the vehicle and all of the interior has been gutted. The interior trim is only there, I think, because I don't there there was anything offered when this guy did all this to his car.

Sher KamaL 02-10-2009 10:47 AM

Thats a 100% disgusting, all the f_ _king way, whoever did that.

NO nevermind I never want to know who did that.

FSETH 02-10-2009 10:58 AM

I dont think it is a dedicated track car. My guess is that it is for track and street. 100% race/track BMW's don't typically have that much interior left in place or folgers cans for exhausts like that. It looks like a ricer street/track car. The guy definately has no taste. I understand race mods, but there is no need for the tacky-as-hell blue headlights that match the ugly rotors, "PINK" tow-hooks, and so on. The guy would also be a huge d.b. if he actually drive that car on the street with that wing. I understand that it helps with downforce on the track, but he still has the i-drive controller and so much else in the car he could rip out for weight savings if it were a dedicated track car. Plus, I am not convinced that I can see the roll cage in photo #4, which means that it may be a bolt-in that can easily be removed for street use.

In addition, it appears that it has the original steering wheel (with air bag) and front side air bags. No way is this only a track car.

dvs 02-10-2009 11:01 AM

i wouldn't mind driving that on the track.

X5rolls 02-10-2009 11:01 AM

Seems more like a wannabe than a true racer - removing the carpeting in but no roll cage (unless not needed in Japan) seems like a joke.

sleepless 02-10-2009 11:05 AM

why can't they stick with the Subaru's....... leave the Bimmers alone.... please

This guy is a true elitest amoung his friends. I'm glad they're finally smartening up about which vehicles they mod the hell out of. There's a good chance that next week, he'll sell this car and do it all over again with any other car he wants. Over there, there are two types of people, stink'n rich and stink'n poor and it's not hard to tell which one this guy is. Regardless of how bad this guys taste is, there's a good chance this guy can drive. This is purely speculation but of all the cars he has to choose from, he buys a left hand drive M5 to screw around with?? This car crossed an ocean to get there. Granted it probably went to it's new home in the same container some newly jacked ricer came over in but that's besides the point. If he's rip'n it up in a left hand drive car, he's doing it intentionally.

GUINNESS 02-10-2009 02:28 PM

Ummm... for go not show???? Do some research on the exhaust too. Depending on what they did to the motor, the large single pipe is better than the dual.

evolver 02-10-2009 02:42 PM

After I suppressed my initial reflex of contracting stomach, I thought that the guy could have invested in M5 badges on the trunk and steering wheel. But the gear shift lever shattered this theory. Am I the only one who had this thought crossing the mind?

FSETH 02-10-2009 02:43 PM

Those are straight up fart cans. Look at exhausts from Active, Supersprint, Corsa, Eisenmann, Borla and so on. These just don't fit on the car at all.

ljnlaw 02-10-2009 02:43 PM

It is inconspicuous!

I'd missed the cage - I totally agree with you - there is no cage in the front so my second statement above now holds true!

Yeah, the original seat belts are still installed as well.

GOFAST GUY 02-11-2009 11:25 AM

Who on earth would do up a strickly track use M5 while they could have both. If it was truely a track car, there would be major graphics all over that thing. Like the title said, Ricer M5. This car doesn't fall far from that tree. I'd street this car too, and I'm pretty sure it is an M5.

kev2nice 02-11-2009 01:24 PM

lmaoo wow. thats a serious joke.

NOVAX5 02-11-2009 04:00 PM

That's why I'm not big on maching it to death. Now when I see someone dumping tons of coin into a Oldsmobile Alero or a Plymoth Breeze, something comes out of me and it's not pretty.

Sher KamaL 02-11-2009 04:54 PM

No taste, it's a bowl of Sh\-t

AzNMpower32 02-11-2009 06:31 PM

The funny thing about all this, is that Japan is a country where there's no space to go zooming around at Germanic, or even American speeds. I don't know about European imports, but most Japanese cars are electronically limited by law to 180 km/h.

RarebreedX5 02-16-2009 01:45 AM

I think a nicer exhuast it could be saved, its not too bad

FYI, there is no law in street racing. there might be laws around your campus. not on the streets of japan. they mod the german car the jap way, thats it. just like people here in the states mod the jap cars the american way.

RichiRich 02-20-2009 01:56 PM

WOW!! :wow: :wow: Not my taste at all!!

but..being the mod fanatic that I am.....I do appreciate what the guy did here.
