2005 645 + tranny & iDrive software upgrade = perfection!
 

Hey everyone-

Just had my last major warranty work done to my car ....... just a bunch of little odds and ends I wanted looked at, one of which was a somewhat abrupt transmission when accelerating from a standing start: often the car would start in 2nd gear and then suddenly THUNK! into first gear.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that if you have a 6er and have this problem, GET THE TRANNY UPDATE. Worlds of difference, not to mention nearly seamless gear changes now.......

Also, my iDrive was giving me some weird problems: sometimes going totally black in map mode for example. Well I just got the latest version of the iDrive software too, and WOW: it's finally *FAST*!!!!!!!! I can't believe it :) So, if you're having problems, definitely get it checked out and hopefully you can get an update as well.

Do you have to ask the dealer to do the update? Just had the MAF replaced and the X5 seems to be running better but not sure they did a software update or not...
