Congrats! I assume that wasn't while you were still inside the building? :)

FSETH 10-10-2011 04:44 PM

Looks awesome! What is it?

Meiac09 10-10-2011 05:25 PM

The M3 wasn't there, replaced by a GT-something. I'll take a pic tomorrow when I go back.

I got up to 120 outside of Munich, and no, not in the building :D

Its a 328i. Looking for long term reliability. I'll take and post more pics tomorrow and this week - going to Switzerland tomorrow, then France, then back to Berlin via the Nurburgring. No iDrive, 3rd pedal - exactly what I wanted. Space Gray/Chestnut.

If you're thinking of doing ED, DO IT. I can't believe the experience. They feed you, they give you the first class treatment, and you can break the car in right. BMW got something really right with this program, and I will probably never buy a german built BMW stateside again.

Big D, cool new car...now get back to 'studying' during your tour,.

:iagree: Way to pick-up new BMW.

The chrome M3 was to the right of red M3 coupe in the pic below, behind the guy in white shirt.

Too bad about the weather. Oktoberfest was PERFECT!

If you get a chance, head towards Stuttgart on the A8. It was widened and has some great high speed sections. I think winding out a new engine is the right way to break it in...only an opinion.

Also, you have to eat at Rusticana. Best Spare Ribs in the world. Near the Ostbahnhof, Grillparzerstraße 5, 81675 München, Germany

mD, its vacations. I had midterms last week.

LM - its gone. I'm attaching whats left. They have a big thing on the new 1, and a motorcycle that runs up and down the stairs.

Viper - I'll keep that in mind. I'm in Innsbruck right now visiting friends and hiking. We're going to Salzburg and then Nürburg, so I'll have to see if I can put that on the route. I have to go back to Munich anyway for something. The next time anyone is there, the Australian bar behind Frauenkirche has NFL on a big screen and a lot of ice.

Met a lot of cool people in Munich, and am looking forward to hopefully going back soon.

I'll post more pics later - Gotta crash for the night.

SANguru 10-13-2011 03:03 AM

congrats and have fun!

In the old days, one tiny cube of ice was all you got when in a place like Burger King, if you asked for it. Normally they fill your cup exactly to that little line on the side of the cup, one time, no ice. I was recently in a McDonalds in Munich that had an ICE MACHINE AND SELF-SERVE SOFT-DRINK DISPENSERS! un heard of a few years ago.

What's the name of the Australian bar? I'll be back in November.

Ned Kelly's. Its walking distance from Marienplatz.

Got the "Bitte Folgen" by the Polizei today... Until they found a Ferrari and sped off from in front of me.
Back in Salzburg, going to Hangar 7 tonight and a Soccer game tomorrow. Hiked a 6,000 foot alp two days ago and Italy yesterday. Great, great week.

German police or Austrian?

Always awesome when a Ferrari screams by and gets you out of a ticket!

German, in an E61. The Austrians checked my toll sticker once but that was it. Made for a decent story at least. I would have killed my friend who was driving for getting pulled over with 500 miles on the clock in my new car.

Parkin in Munich

Can you name the two cars squeezed into this one parking space in Munich?:D

motordavid 10-18-2011 05:32 PM

A Bentley and a midgey Fiat?

Viperfreak2 10-18-2011 05:38 PM

Correct on the Bentley, sorry not a Fiat!

Hint, it is not a European brand

Toyota or Nissan?

Meiac09 10-19-2011 02:02 AM

Stupid Toyota, maybe the Aygo? IDK the model but they sell it as a Citroen C1 too. It has pop out windows even when you get the 5 door model. I am pretty sure I could deadlift the thing.

Viperfreak2 10-20-2011 08:34 AM

Yes, the Aygo Toyota. You win, and I think the Bentley could have pushed that thing forward without damage.

And the nice X6 behind these two....

motordavid 10-20-2011 09:23 PM

Viper, do I win a Bentley for my first correct guess?
TheCEO likes the cabrio version, in white...;>)

Viperfreak2 10-24-2011 08:22 AM

The ONLY person I know who drives a white Bentley convertible, also has bleach blonde hair, floppy hats, huge sunglasses, a fake smile and a spray on tan.
