iPhone 3G snap-in adapter

I guess it's too early to ask if you have this new snap-in adapter? Do you have a part # or any idea when it might be in stock?

I know you're on vacation this week :)

It is still a little early. BMW has not released any information on that yet. I do not know when it will be available.

OK, thanks.

If you come across it, maybe you can post its availability so I can place an order.

Thanks

Is there any benefit to the cradle if you don't have ASSIST? I have the Bluetooth ULF (just installed it). I had heard that you get antenna boost and charging. Is this true?

Thanks, jknj

Nope, that's it. Just antenna boost and charging.

Do I need the USB port in order to use the cradle?

Is the 1st gen Iphone adapter and the 3g adapter different ?
Here are the part numbers I found not sure if it works on e 53 :

BMW Part # 84-10-9-182-792 but the extra parts needed are 84 21 6 946 075 [snap in adapter / Eject box] and 51 16 7 060 175 [Eject box frame] info taken from http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...lots-pics.html

I have no doubt that the iPhone and the iPhone 3G adapters will be different. The phones are different shapes -- the 3G's back would be too rounded to fit in a iPhone's adapter.

No, you do not. The cradle connects to the phone power and antenna.
