i need some help with running boards, why are the prices for these things so different? i see 290 on ebay for aftermarket running boards that promise to be easy and bolt on, and than i see 400 to 800 running boards. i need someone to clarify me the difference and which is better, my bet is the 800 dollar one.

For the $290 on ebay that is just the cheap Aluminum pice add on to your current plastic one and it only for look.
The $400-$800 one is factory made by BMW that replace your old current plastic one ( I hightly recommend it) go with the factory one.

i see, thanx for the cleaification. I got a 05 x5 Black 3.0 which running board do i use?

they should be the same for 01-06...

did you try Morristown BMW? give them a call and most probably you can get it from them cheaper, and yeah they are closer so you can pick it up.
