BMW Maintenance Program Upgrade?
 

I've searched but I just can't find anything recent on "BMW Maintenance Program Upgrade" or what is normally known as the Extended Warranty.

There used to be a thread where people posted the best dealerships to buy this from. Anyone have any current info on best deals (or what thread I should be looking at)?

Skip the maintenance plan- most people will spend far less with a decent indy to do the BMW maintennace.

The ONLY caveat is if you habe NOT had brakes done by the time you hit 50k..odds are you will need it and that makes it a break even.

Of course, an indy will probably save you money- and by starting a relationship with them for maintenance, you have a leg up when (if?) you have a failure.

How does Indy compare with Dinan center I heard good things from them. We paid $1500 for extended maintainense on our x5 4.4 now dealer wanted $2700, lol:(

I don't understand the question.

"maintenance" on a bmw is really simple:

a few oil changes
A few air and cabin filters
A bunch of 'check this and check that'
A few fluid changes.

All this will be maybe $700-800

The big ticket (if you use a dealer or dinan) will be brakes- and not every car needs brakes during the 'extension' to the maintnance plan.

Dinan is the same price as dealers. Both dinan and a dealer, you will have a low-skilled mechanic doing the work very quickly, with charges equal to their highest skilled tech.

You can shop around for the maintenance plan- or better yet, when you hit 45k miles, figure out if you will need a brake job in the next two years, and maybe pass on the plan, and find a shop to do brakes for an honest price.
