headlights

Hello everyone, I've been battling to purchase oem or a high quality aftermarket set of angel eye headlights. I have an 02 with xenons. If anyone has had good luck or any suggestions that would be great.

There is no OE with the angel eyes built in for the 2002 model... so, you are looking for aftermarket for the AE versions... there are few folks out here who have some knowledge about the subject, i am sure, once they wake up, they will chime in...

3 Questions:

1) Did you check to see when your headlights were built? (up to 9/2002 build date can be opened, and angel eyes installed for $60)

2) If your headlights are able to be opened, how comfortable are you baking open your headlights and installing the AE's yourself, as a DIY'er?

3) If you're not comfortable opening your headlights and installing angel eyes even if you are able to open them, are you ok with spending about $650-700 on new Depo headlights? Here is the link to the headlights many here install on their X:

If you want me to build you a set of headlights using your stock lights for almost half the price let me know. As long as your headlights can be baked open I can install the angel eyes, polish the lenses, and remove the waffles in front of the projector and high beam if you'd like.

Just wanted to post on here that I have a set of Aftermarket headlights that I modified and put in a set of EVO E55 (i think have to recheck) projectors and a set of Angel eyes in the headlights.

Tha AE ring I only did on the bigger (inner) part of the headlight. I dont have a wiring harness to mount to the Truck but have tested the AE and they work great. Just arent wired on the truck.

I am thinking of selling the truck so I may part out with the headlights if anyone is interested. LMK Can post pictures here or Email or w/e works.

Where to look for build date of headlights? I have 03 x5 and I want to keep my stock lights and add angels.

Ricky Bobby 06-27-2014 10:10 AM

///M3Fresh, sent PM about your lights, and stock ones too if they can be baked.

kwalk, this is where you need to look, although I'm almost positive being an '03 model you can't bake those open, if the timestamp here shows PRIOR to 10/02 they can be baked:

If you can find me a set I do retrofits and can build them for you and add the LED angel eye rings, Ldiggs910 has a set for sale in the classifieds of his old 2001 and those are able to be baked.

If you buy them from him I can do the retrofit work of polishing the lenses, removing the waffles and adding LED angel eyes just let me know.

Just saw this! Let me check if they are still available and what he wants for them.

If you want the stock headlights cleared out and angel eyes installed its $350 including return shipping to you, you'd have to send or drop your lights off with me for the work

i dont know, i just seen these on ebay, i believe depo are the best aftermarket that you can ever get in headlights. I seen other aftermarket ones, but they dont look as bold/ original as depo do IMO
