If you're listening to the BS from Dems and Reps all they are doing is pointing at the other to say it failed. Fire them all.

BTW, 90+ Dems didn't vote for the bill. Reps got 30% of the to vote yes, Dems got 60% to vote yes. Dems are the majority, if they all voted yes..that would have been enough.

The bill failed 228 to 205, only 24 votes were needed. Dems couldn't pull it.

Nice leadership Nancy.

P.S. It was no longer Bush's bill once the House took control of the measure and made significant changes.

correct. This dem run congress blows...has since it took office. But for some unknown reason, people seem to think dems are the answer :(
Although, Barney Franks had interesting comments. Speaking to the REPS producing a different bill that BUSH would not back :dunno:

I thought the reason why Senator "Kaptin' Save-Em" McCain was in Washington was to rescue the bill from failure? Didn't he tell America the resaon why he participated in Friday's debate was because a deal was near complete? Didn't he return to Washington after the debate in order to win over House Republicans, and on Sunday declared victory in that regard? Didn't he get pissed because no one would give him credit for rescuing the bill?

This is still Bush's bill... Changes by the Dems include more protections for us taxpayers...

The Reps that are against the bill are in favor of a completely different solution - an insurance type plan in which banks are to bail themselves out... This is a plan that is not Bush's plan...

Wow...You're in a total partisan fog. Go drink some coffee and spend the next week in detox. If you can blame Pelosi and the Democrats failure on McCain you can justify anything in your head.

I'd say this was your worst moment as it pertains to any rational political discussion.

Again, Dems just needed 25 more votes to pass...couldn't pull them out of their own party. That explains the LOWEST Congress rating ever.

Like others have said, this isn't a Dem versus Rep issue. It's a simple matter of fact, that this Congress cannot get anything done. The end.

The failure of the Bill is non-partisan. However, Tell me John McCain did not make those claims and I will call you a damn liar and partisan hackjob!
