Is there a way to start a "grassroots" campaign for congressional term limits, including loss of pensions & benefits if convicted of violating federal laws and state major felony laws while in office; with loss of office for conviction of other laws requiring jail time; and being prohibited from running for office if unable to vote (ie, in jail for year+1day) Also restrictions from being able to lobby after leaving office and prohibited from working for companies they came in contact with during their time in office, unless they worked there before entering politics

i(f they worked there originally, then they already have to exclude themselves due to conflict of interest)

IMHO, it makes little sense to write a law without including penalties that make people think at least twice before they decide to break them - for example..., those of you who think the death penalty is not a deterrent... I agree 4000 people on death row, 20+yrs of appeals, 30-50 actually put to death/yr, IS NOT A DETERRENT - 400 people lefton death row, no appeals if there is NO doubt to their actual crime, 90% of those on death row put to death; IS A DETERRENT
