Great...Black Panthers stationed outside a polling place with nightsticks

Not a place I'd feel comfortable voting with my skin color.

Quicksilver 11-04-2008 03:42 PM

I'd feel more comfortable wearing my lucky T-Shirt if they didn't have those weapons:

Short of McCain/Palin it seems to me your comfort level might be
compromised just about anywhere with that shirt on. Even the McCail
Palin crew might encourage you to show some class and dump the shirt.

The news did verify that they were part of the "new" black panthers whatever they may be. And yes, I would feel better if it was two white guys with one holding a nightstick.

FSETH 11-04-2008 04:01 PM

The all black clothes, the red-ish patch on the jacket under the heart and the beret are pretty symbolic of the Black Panther Party. I would say that they are either Panthers or they are celebrating Halloween a week late.

The cops should have been called immediately. I am pretty sure we don't need Black Panthers (or guys pretending to be Panthers) running security at our polling stations.

Quicksilver 11-04-2008 04:09 PM

:iagree:

I wonder if they we're hired security guards needed to deal with some sort of radical element in that neighborhood???

Or two white guys with firehoses and German Shepherds?:dunno:

Anyway, I don't know who those guys thought they were helping. It certainly wasn't Obama.

motordavid 11-04-2008 04:46 PM

I know that area pretty well, and I don't understand the need for
black, white, pink, green or purple people to be outside the polling place
with night sticks...esp. in the daytime.

Somewhat intimidating...shades of the Move Movement, Philly,
circa 1985.

Nowhere in the CNN report does it mention anything about "Black Panthers". The incident doesn't even merit an investigation by the DA's office.

And what a detailed description from that fine urinalyst at CNN...

"A man wearing what appeared to be a black outfit with a beret and holding a nightstick was asked by police to leave a polling location in Philadelphia Tuesday"

FSETH 11-04-2008 05:50 PM

It is funny how CNN says this; A man wearing what appeared to be a black outfit with a beret and holding a nightstick and Fox News comes right out and says that the guy is a Black Panther.

Here is an interview with the other man in the video. You can decide if he is a Black Panther or not. If so, what is the need for them to be there?

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video0...w.foxnews.com/

If they were indeed Black Panthers, it should most certainly at least be investigated if you ask me.

GO RACISTS

And please with the "fox news read into it" crap. If 4 white guys with shaved heads were standing at a polling station with baseball bats...what would the media say about that?

Oh that's right...fair & balanced Faux News says they're black panthers. Then they must be... Regardless, the DA's office is not going to investigate.

Sure looks like a Black Panther to me and the earlier guy definitely had a nightstick. Should NOT have been allowed.

So if they were a bunch of guys with shaved heads dressed as Skin Heads with one holding a nightstick you would not have a problem?

Big time double standard. I'd be pissed if ANY private citizen was standing outside of a polling place with a club regardless of their race.

Just another perspective other than your link to the Communist News Network blog. :D

Either way these guys were either a) Black Panthers or b) people impersonating Black Panthers in front of a voting location. Bottom line is that they looked very intimidating. One was 7 feet tall and the other was holding a weapon. That doesn't sound strange to you? You don't think that it is possible for that to intimidate the average citizen? You don't think that it should be looked into further? What if they were just some guys impersonating KKK members with white robes and wooden crosses? No big deal, huh? They are just there serving the community I guess.

Probably would have been worse if it were a couple of Asians with numchucks:rofl:
