One of my personal faves on BigR's list was the Qtr of a Billion
Dollars for furniture at the new HomelandCrossingGuards HQ offices.
Otoh, by the end of this decade the HLS dept. will be the biggest
"department" on the planet, so I suppose they will need all those
new desks, chairs, couches, white boards, etc. :rolleyes:

President Obama is on the record today saying that there are modest differences in the budget between the Dems and Republicans. What planet is he on today?

But it seems like everyone knows what they
would do about this or that. And honestly I can
understand the frustration of all. But in reality
there is so much behind the scenes arm twisting that
it's hard to imagine that any one man could could
control the outcome of any issue and not make enemies.

We all knew that none of this was going to be perfect
going forward but remember the whole meaning of
politics is "COMPROMISE". And it's no compromise
when everyone agrees with your ideas and direction.
The compromise comes when you can hold on to your
convictions but agree to adopt at least some of the
greater plan for the greater good.

As I said months ago it will be interesting to see if
the President over time has the gift of winning
over his detractors. I wonder how many of us
can claim that we have that gift and could get
it done.

I can assure you I do not........:D
