My point was do some research before dropping republican talking points. The little research I did took all of 2 minutes to find. Granted, I have access to Westlaw which made the case law much easier to find.

Your quote, taken by itself, could be viewed as racist. But taken as a whole, her comments were the complete antithesis of racism. I wonder how long Fox News and Newt will beat that quote to death before someone calls them on it?

As for the Ricci case, it appears that she applied case law and constitutional law to reach her opinion, not practicing judicial activism.

I would hope that a wise white male with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina woman who hasn't lived that life.

New racism is no better than old racism.

I didn't put a spin on anything, you might be though.

Please, tell me how? I gave it to you straight... no chaser. I didn't say you spun anything. I only suggested that you dig a little deeper than just posting quotes without context.

You just attempted to make it look like my quotes were some how distorted or false, which they weren't. That was my point. The context is what you make of it, in or out. So she sided with other racist judges for her verdict, so what? I wouldn't want any of them in the SC either. :dunno:

Always seems these things go back to one of two things:

1) Hey they did it before us
2) Other people thought it was OK

Quotes are useless without context. Context isn't what you make of it. It is what it is.

As far as the Ricci case is concerned, I'd suggest you read the opinion, concurrences and dissents before passing judgment on the judges and the ruling of the court. Its public information and it is free. Furthermore, the issues involved are more complicated than just black and white (pun intended). Decisions

We disagree. As a lawyer you should understand that context is fully what you make of it. Your ability to spin context is very important. And we are now completely off topic ;)
