Obama and Iconography

I find this fact very interesting:

Go to Obama's official website and try to find the presidential seal. You will not find it anywhere but what you will find is the "O" everywhere. Why is that? Was it an oversight? Does he not have the right to use the presidential seal or something?

Watch this video. It is most definitely a right wing view but the message is undeniable. The "O" and this president is nothing more than a brand, a well crafted propaganda machine, an image.

Take this and so many other examples into mind, such a his initial attempt at brainwashing school children with his plan to have them worship him with a so-called "lesson plan" that was changed only after people caught him, and it is scary "cult of personality" stuff.

Branding now so later he can sell the 'O' toothpaste. Remember O for Oprah?

Probably because Obama's official website is a campaign website, and is not the official White House website. I'm sure that there is a law that prohibits the use of the official seal for just any purpose... even by the President of the United States for use outside his official capacity as Commander-in-Chief.

While use of the official seal is regulated by the White House Graphics and Calligraphy Office, variations of the Seal are heavily used in popular culture. One example is the use of a variation of the seal as a logo. The rock bands Blink-182 and The Ramones both use logos that are similar to the Seal. The mega-hit television show The West Wing used an altered Presidential Seal as part of its opening sequence. But I believe as has been stated the seal continues to be regulated which may be why it is not seen on his web site.

Is that website even owned by him? I looks to be owned by "Organizing for America" and really who cares? A brand is a brand, move on!
