And some people really thought like this...

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the lounge or here at first as it is a humorous video, but the fact is many people really thought like this.... and I actually mean that unfortunately.

Is the point that only Obama supporters have some crazy ideas?

Hey, I called it a humorous video.... and that I found personal humor in it simply because I've personally seen and met people with that actual point of view that as soon as he was in office life would magically change to where they didn't have to pay bills and would be able to go sign for any house...

But I agree that stupidity is universal and found just about anywhere you look, and I wasn't trying to say all lefties or people on the gov't teet are that ignorant.

From what I have gleened of your personality, I would speculate that you did indeed intend this to be an example of humor... but you put it into Politics.

The sole purpose of which (IMHO) seems to be to take shots at each other. That is why I responded.

Weasel 08-19-2010 08:06 PM

Well, if you think the only way to have a political conversation is to take shots from left to right then we're on different pages. And just for the record, I'm registered independent, but usually see things on the conservative side of the spectrum.

blktoptrvl 08-19-2010 08:31 PM

No, what I said was that people HERE just take shots.

EDIT:

You ask if I think "the only way to have a political conversation is to take shots from left to right," but take a good look at what you have posted and what others have posted in the past.

Do you really think this is politics?

Don't you think political discourse should be more about budgets, the course the country is going in, the direction of war and social events, and the goals being set for the country's future... and not "look at this idiot I posted" he or she is obviously representative of a party, a race, a political group?

Weasel 08-19-2010 08:38 PM

Yeah, I guess so. That's why I usually don't post too often in the politics forum. But a few of the threads here were entertaining in that trainwreck kinda way.

I agree with you. That is entertaining... and that was what it was meant to be.

But it was not politics. Unfortunately, I do believe that is where polits are headed in the US. Nobody talks about real issues anymore. It is just about talking over other, and "my side won." Even though the country is losing.

Sorry, I edited the previous post while you were writing. (I have a habit of making lots of edits to extend or clarify my thoughts.)
