What will happen to England?

The decision to cut, cut, cut. The queens budget down 14%, the military slashed, welfare programs, assisted housing....all dramatically slashed.

It will be interesting to see what happens, as this may be the direction of some other western countries soon.

Scotland and Ireland too.

You mean what will happen to the UK? UK does NOT equal England.

The riots in France, mostly instigated by fairly young people, was theoretically over raising the "retirement age" from 60 to 62.

While I'm sure there were some 60 sumpins' out there in the streets, most of the gang looked to be 30-40 years away from any kind of retirement.

One would have thought the French gov't was cutting off the octogenarians' daily wine supplement.

England is just barely coming to grips with quasi-socialism/gov't supported "programs", (via taxes), that no one can pay for; as are most western nations. The US is not far behind; we are just larger, and more deluded, at this point.

Enjoy "today", because it will be a different world in the coming decades, imo.

the lunatics took over the asylum long ago .
there was apparently no need to lose a single civil employee according to a commissioned report by the team from BHS .they identified £80 billion savings through terminating leases on certain buildings , saving money on office supplies etc .
as usual the creeps in government have ignored sound advice and instead opted to sensationalise , to impress some and to exert some perceived authority over others .

Come over the ocean to the Colonies!
We are only a few years, and a bigger deficit ahead of you. ;)

French people are selfish. I speak from experience. Watch, once the bill gets passed, the suburban trains in Ile de France will grind to a halt because everyone jumps in front of one, it happened a year ago when France Telecom was privatized and all the fonctionnaires all had to actually work for their money as opposed to sleeping on the job and having protections out the wazoo.

apparently being in a riot is a "rite of passage." I guess this is what happens when there is no national soccer stuff going on. :dunno:

I think we're on the same track. Well, once we realize that we should probably stop hanging our own noose with our debt to China at least.
