VOTE!

Not telling you who to vote for. Just please vote! The Constitution only asks two things of us as U.S. citizens..., to vote and serve on jury duty. Our track record is less than half of the last Iraqi vote percentage, with no one trying to kill us if we did vote. Frankly, I'm ashamed.

My Grandfather came from Germany in 1923 after surviving WWI. The business he started gave all workers a paid holiday on Presidential Election Day, so the workers had no excuse not to vote. Enuf said!

Early voting is available here in MD - already cast our votes.

I've driving down to Charlottesville VA tomorrow to cast a ballot in the hotly contested 5th district.

My votes:

For Representative: Robert Hurt (R)

Referendum #1: NO
Referendum #2: YES
Referendum #3: YES

wallyx5 11-01-2010 09:26 PM

I mailed in my ballot.

motordavid 11-01-2010 09:33 PM

I would really like to see None Of The Above on every ballot;
after a few years of that option getting 30%+ of the vote,
the elected geniuses might wise up.

Nothing is different on Wednesday morning in the US of A, imo,
no matter who wins.

Voted against all incumbents.

Naz24 11-02-2010 08:46 PM

i really hope we can try to restore some sanity in this country. its getting scary out there...

even scarier, the group of Cornellians in my dorm tv lounge watching msnbc. somebody please change the channel to fox news!

AzNMpower32 11-02-2010 09:55 PM

The Virginia 5th district just went to Hurt (R). Looks like I helped despite the typical college fanaticism with all things blue; a lot of the students vote twice.......absentee at home then in-person in Charlottesville City .

Looks like Obama's late rally in the city on Friday couldn't help :p:. Seriously, central Virginia lost a LOT of jobs the last couple years. There are a lot of vacant buildings, more and more each time I revisit the town.

Fox News Draws Biggest Cable Audience for Election Coverage - WSJ.com

Quicksilver 11-04-2010 07:49 PM

Just because they may have what some are calling the biggest cable
audience for election coverage or other wise, that doesn't make them a
credible media outlet for the truth.

Can hardly wait for Palin, IQ~102, in 2012...
we continue to get what we deserve.

Pretty good line from the NewYawkTimes Book Review
the other day, in a long art. reviewing a plethora of political opin
and spin books:

"There's almost a rule in American politics that the party
most plausibly offering something for nothing, wins."

Sad thing is that she could probably contend for the win right now.:wow: With Obama's approval rating hovering at a blistering 45% and with what happened Tuesday who knows? Change is what could happen in 2012.

X5Flyboy 11-06-2010 09:31 AM

Why is it we vette or babysitters more than we do our politicians?

Obama has proved to be nothing but a cheerleader. Rah, rah, rah, my way is good. Rah, rah, rah, any other way is bad. I'd really like to know what his vision for America is. With all this existing & projected debt, there is not going to be anything left (after debt interest is paid) to run the government, including social security, defense, medicare, payrolls, etc.

Quicksilver 11-06-2010 05:26 PM

Might be a good idea to look and see if he's accomplished anything
that might be considered positive. Just in case anyone has forgotten
you don't get into fights unless your doing something that other
people want to fight with you about.

Weather one agrees or not, one thing stands out; Obama hasn't been
on the sidelines cheerleading.

What the heck has Obama done so far?

Thanks for the link. It appears that a few things did get passed in the first half of his term. One can debate on any of these individual items whether spending money on veterans, students, technology, equal pay, tax cuts, financial reforms, health insurance reforms, etc, are good policy or not, but there appears to be quite a list there.

Dannyell 11-07-2010 06:57 PM

Maybe he'll gain some support by working with republicans, scare some people, attack Iran, etc
