Obama wins re-election
Popular vote 50/50. So what do ya'll think?
|
I think that we already had a thread
I'm glad he won't be a one term president, regardless of whether it is the left or right under discussion. I think it is better to give him another term. See if he can move his agenda along a little further. Not that us Canadian's get to have an opinion on this one. I think it would be good for the country if the House and Obama could find a few things to agree on, instead of everything being blocked on partisan principles. One can hope. I think that it is a good thing that this election wasn't about passports, the colour of a candidate's skin, or a candidate's personal religious beliefs. We didn't see attack adds up here, although I am sure there were still lots of them. What we also didn't see was the sideshow that came along with the 2008 election, it seemed better than 2008 in that respect. I think that the governor of New Jersey came out well. He asked for help, and got it. He thanked Obama. He said he still has his personal preference, Romney. Maybe if politicians see that acting like grownups makes them look good, they will do it more often. That would be a good thing. I think that the Latino vote, and the women's vote, helped Obama a lot. I think that the Republicans need to figure out how to reach those two groups the next time around. I think it is a good thing that young people voted, whoever they vote for. I think there are no good justifications for long lines at polling booths (apart from New Jersey and New York, who get a pass this time) |
