Hi, just stumbled on this thread and I'm keen to see some pics too.
I have an E70 X5 40d MSport and need a tow bar. |

A question for those fitting the tow bars, are the E53 and E70 pre-wired to accept the trailer lights module? By this I mean that the plug near the battery is available to accept the module - I do not mean the wiring from the module to the hitch.
I ask as my X3 certainly was not and this seems to be common in Aussie X3's

this info applies to E53:
if your car any of the options from level 2, then all options from level 2 are prewired. if you have any of the options from level 3 - all options form level 3 and from level 2 are prewired: Level 2 S235 - trailer hitch S502 - SRA (headlight washer) S508 - PDC S609 - Nav S624 through S629 - telephone/radio Level 3 S248 - steering wheel heater S261 - rear airbags (interesting, I wonder if this is retrofittable) S265 - RDC, tire pressure S461 - backrest heating system in the rear S496 - seat heating system in the rear S533 - rear air conditioner S536 - auxialliary heating system Level 4 S220 - single axle level control Level 5 S522 - xenon lights |

that feature allows you to set up to two times in the internal timer for the fans to kick in and ventilate the car... when you set up the times, a little red propeller lights up next to the right knob. you turn the car off, walk away.. at the specified time, the fans kick in... i don't remember, how long, but they vent the car off the heat, and then shut off.. then they kick in for the second timer...
try it... |
