We have the exact same issue. Sand beige interior rather than tobacco, but experiencing exactly what you describe. Our X5 is 4 months old.

I have this on my X5 as well, and I do not live in a very warm place, so the Florida-hot argument is bull. I haven't figured out how to remove it either.
