Broke 2 of these recently as the hood/bonnet is...

Broke 2 of these recently as the hood/bonnet is heavy and the support struts were worn out. Replaced the hood struts and new latch - problem solved.

Thanks. I'm guessing the pulley/idler near the alternator as well. Had so much coolant leaking all over everything the bearings are probably shot. Car has 200k+ miles so I guess this would fall...

Steering had become progressively more difficult...

Steering had become progressively more difficult over past 6 months or more. Had the steering shaft/u-joint replaced. Old shaft joint bound up and difficult to move. Drives like a BMW again. :)
