Did non-subwoofer X5s have subwoofer wiring harness?

This is my 2nd e53, so I'm not new to them. I'm getting the bugs worked out of this one and I never thought about the fact that some came without subwoofers. I can't see why someone would un-install...

I'm going to try the heat shrink. I have some with the adhesive on the inside. I'm thinking I can double that up and use some black RTV and maybe nobody will notice.

This many years down the road, it seems like most aftermarket parts are made by the same manufacturer. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. I bought an eBay kit that had all of the parts for...

Well... I've done some checking... It appears that this grommet is one that they only used on the e53, and they've discontinued it. Realoem shows it being used on practically every BMW from that...

What windshield washer grommet???

My windshield washer reservoir is leaking at the pump grommet. I THOUGHT this was going to be an easy fix. I've ordered three different grommets and they are all 1/2 the size of the hole they are...

I found the pressure control valve. It's at the 6 o'clock position, at the back of the compressor. It's held in with a circlip and would be easy to change on the bench, but not in the car. I won't be...

Not the expansion valve. Some of the "fancier" cars started doing variable volume type stuff so that you would have the same ammount of pumping at idle as you do on the interstate. That way the AC...

Does the AC compressor have a pressure control valve?

I have a 2006 X5, 6-speed. It's new to me. The AC compressor won't make a pressure differential - it's not moving refrigerant. The clutch engages.

When the wife's Lexus did this, it was the...

Does the e53 key send a security signal to crank?

My 2001 needs a head gasket, so I fixed it today by buying a 2006. The new one is a minor basket case and I got it cheap because I was the only one who could make it run and drive. It has three keys....
