I ordered mid Dec and car was at dealer a week...

Took delivery today

Hi all,

Took delivery today of the X5 and dropped off the X3.

Crappy day to pick up a car in NY area, but hey...the snow is not going away anytime soon.

So far I have put on about 30 miles. ...

If the car was on the lot already and they were trying to sell it to you with them telling you they had to replace the engine, would you really buy...

That does seem odd as they are pushing custom ordering because they can do more just in time type production to keep costs better managed. They have been saying it takes around 4 weeks to 6 weeks...

don't get me wrong, I do love the car, especially the way a 5,000 truck drives !, but the damn problems and Dealer issues are a real turn-off. We are paying good money and should not be experiencing...

just brought my 2008 X5 3.0 to the dealer for 3 issues - so far a poor experience!

not even 4 months in and I already have 3 issues:

1. Sunroof when put into vent position, does not always want to close and if it gets stuck I have to shut down the car and let it rest for 15 mins...
