I had a similar problem when I got my X and the dlr replaced (or said they replaced) the AM aerial amp in the boot lid. Whatever they did it fixed my problem, the AM reception is now fine.

It could be the final stage unit, this happened on my 525 occassionally before it gave up completely, it is an easy DIY fix if you can find it, I'm not sure where it is on the X5, unit costs £65 UK...

I've just bought a 4.6is 2003 end of March, and I've got the same vibration happening at anything from 20-60mph, the dealer has done a software re-boot but problem still exists, it's in again...
