..then flash the unit with a WORKING disc burned in...

I just downgraded to an ORIGINAL, untouched version of the Nav OS, verified that everything worked OK. (European config).

ASSIST still missing, but haven't set the telematics settings yet.

The clue is to writ SLOW to the disk (preferably 1X) but as slow as possible. If you use "ImgBurn" (recommended), use the "VERIFY" function...
