Very loud "jet engine" noise from engine

Hi All,

We brought the e53 in for cooling system refresh and the car came back with a very loud engine noise. It does not sound healthy at all. Mechanic says "he did not cause the sound".

I have an 01 4.4 and my trunk pops open for no reason too! I have to lock my doors as soon as i get into the car, or else trunk will open.

the reason i ask is that i place on swapping my 4.4 bumper for a 4.8 bumper and add rear flares. Want to do the fronts too but that racks upp the money heavily.

I know that WITH running boards 4.8 gets the beefy wide flares in the front. But if 4.8 DOES NOT have running boards are they the same as 4.4 or are they still alittle more flared?
