damn - just curious, what mileage did your chain...

damn - just curious, what mileage did your chain slip at? Did you have any warning? It happened to my 99 540i (same engine) at 103k miles and had been preceded by a P0011 code I believe

oooh I love the CSL look - so would that be like four rears then (9.5" width)?

Tom over at European Auto Source is doing kind of a CSL with a lip - only in 19" now... but who knows if people bug...

If you are not getting any codes - then it may also be your fuel filter. A friend of mine was having the exact same issue and I swore up and down that it was a cam sensor but he wasn't pulling any...
