I wasn't using the OBDII connection. Basically what happened was the people installing my retrofit nav left one of the doors open over night and drained the battery....

I am basically having the same problem as you are. After reconnecting the battery the coutdown timer did not go down, it just stays at 9:59. At first I thought it might have been the batterys, but...

Thanks for the advice e39_touring. Bummer, I guess I do need the radio module and since it does quite alot I can see why its so damn expensive. At least I know any module will work now though.
